Futures Trader Weekly Drawdown Checklist
A weekly drawdown review should reveal whether losses came from normal strategy variance, larger losses, more trades, or repeated rule exceptions.
What to measure
Compare weekly net P/L, gross losses, largest loss, losing streak, expectancy, and the percentage of losses concentrated in the worst trade.
A repeatable workflow
Aggregate completed trades across the week, identify the worst session, then compare its size and frequency with the remaining sessions.
Common mistake
Do not use only end-of-week equity. Recovery after a deep intraday loss can hide the actual risk path taken to reach the closing result.
Use these measurements as an educational review of recorded executions, not as a prediction or trading recommendation.
